Unlearning Learning: Brain Science, Better Design, and an AI-Powered Boost

Science of Learning Online Conference
Science of Learning Online Conference

In this session, we will explore how to apply learning science in your learning programs using an AI assistant trained on foundational research, models, and learning principles. We’ll walk through real-world examples, before-and-after course designs, and give you a chance to interact with the AI to assess and enhance your own scenarios. This session is perfect for L&D professionals who want to advocate for better learning programs, ground their work in science, and leverage emerging tools in ways that are accessible, not overwhelming.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the AGES model and how it supports memory, engagement, and behavior change using language that resonates with business stakeholders.
  • Identify outdated or ineffective training practices through the lens of cognitive science and explore what to “unlearn.”
  • Apply the AGES model to their own learning design using a pretrained AI assistant that offers evidence-backed insights and feedback. Use AI-generated prompts to enhance engagement, retention, and learner experience without needing deep tech expertise
