Just One Question for Karen Soskin: Six Sigma and eLearning Development

“What is Six Sigma, and what can it do for eLearningdevelopment?” Six Sigma is a management methodology that is probably unfamiliarto many in the eLearning field, so we asked Karen Soskin to explain it and itsrelationship to our work. Karen Hyder and Mike Sloat interviewed Soskin duringthe Learning Solutions Conference & Expo 2012 in Orlando, Florida.


Karen Soskin has led organizations through change at severalbiopharma companies. She began her career at Miles Laboratories, where she wasinstrumental in the adoption of new technologies. At Warner Lambert (nowPfizer), she led development operations and introduced systems to enhancespeed, volume, and quality in clinical trials. Karen also built process,training, and SOP capabilities, and co-led strategy development for applyingthe Internet to clinical trials and investigations. At Amgen, Karen developedcross-functional programs for submissions excellence and label optimization. AtAbbott Laboratories, Karen led training initiatives for company-wide adaptationto new regulatory requirements.
