Sense-Making and Social Leadership

There is a gap between theory and practice: the space inwhich we ‘make sense’ of what we learn and build the vocabulary and behaviorsto put it into practice. In this session, we will explore how this ‘sensemaking’ works and consider the role of leaders in facilitating and enabling it.

We will consider the difference between individual andcollective ‘sense making’ and the ways that our thinking is influenced orconstrained by the context we already know, as well as understanding howleaders who demonstrate humility in their own understanding can create spacefor others to learn more effectively.
