Learning and Performance Ecosystems: Current State and Challenges

The increasing complexity of the world in which we live andwork, combined with the explosion in the amount of knowledge we need to besuccessful, requires us to be more sophisticated in how we learn. We must bebetter prepared to learn on demand, with minimum disruption to our workflow andproductivity. While we have made great strides in bringing training closer tothe workplace, our next challenge isto bring learning closer to the workflow.
To accomplish this, we must move away from individual,“one-off” training solutions to an ecosystem comprised of multi-facetedlearning and performance options that enhance the environments in which we workand learn. A learning and performance ecosystem enhances individual andorganizational effectiveness by connecting people and supporting them with abroad range of content, processes, and technologies to drive performance.
In the new Guild Research report Learning and PerformanceEcosystems: Current State and Challenges, Steve Foreman analyzes theresults of a survey about the prevalence of learning and performance ecosystemsin the eLearning community, their building blocks, and the challengesorganizations face in developing new, innovative learning and performancesolutions.
