eThink Education, a certified Moodlepartner, announced that the new features and fixes of Moodle 3.2—including notableimprovements to theme and navigation, updated API and LTI, and the addition ofa customizable User Tour feature that helpfully guides learners through theMoodle interface—will be available to clients shortly after the release toensure users can quickly begin utilizing key new functionality. Moodle, theworld’s most widely used learning management system (LMS), has announced thatthe Moodle 3.2 release is scheduled for November 28.
Moodle’s previous update, the highlyanticipated Moodle 3.1, included many new user-requested features and fixes, suchas: support for competency-based education, enhancements to several activities,easy retrieval of deleted files, improved tagging and course editing, andexpanded functionality within the Moodle mobile app.
Moodle 3.2 builds on the notableimprovements of its predecessor with upgrades to core themes and navigation,providing a more modern and easy-to-navigate interface. The best part of theupgrade is that users can choose whether or when to implement the new version,resulting in a non-disruptive transition to a more visually pleasing display.
Perhaps the most notable feature of Moodle3.2 is the User Tour tool, which creates a customizable walkthrough with overlayto guide users through the Moodle interface. The tool is perfect for introducing newusers to Moodle, pointing out new features, introducing a specific course, ordirecting users to an important piece of the dashboard.
On the technical side, updated API in graphreports will increase ease of use, improve how graphs display, and allow forhandling of larger data sets. Improvements to LTI include minor bug fixes,enhanced enrollment LTI support, and improved overall quality of life for LTI version2.0.
