Vocation Nation
Vocation Nation™, an entity of Atlanta-based Launching You 2.0, a 501(c)(3) organization, is developing an innovative workforce-readiness training program designed to help participants build the foundational knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to succeed in the workplace.
Our curriculum is approximately 75% complete and is being developed for live, instructor-led delivery. Existing materials include PowerPoint presentations, videos, and participant activities.
We are preparing to pilot the program in the Atlanta area and are seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer / Blended Learning Consultant to strengthen the curriculum using adult-learning best practices, support and evaluate the pilot, and incorporate lessons learned into a finalized master curriculum.
Following successful completion of the initial engagement, the consultant may also help transform the curriculum into a blended-learning program combining live instructor-led training with asynchronous eLearning.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an instructional-design partner in the Atlanta area who can help us answer a more important question:
What is the most effective way for participants to learn, practice, apply, and demonstrate the workplace-success skills we are teaching?
The initial engagement will focus on strengthening and validating the instructor-led curriculum before making an investment in eLearning development or technology.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will:
Review the existing curriculum, PowerPoint presentations, videos, activities, facilitator and participant materials, and supporting resources.
Evaluate and strengthen the curriculum using adult-learning and instructional-design best practices.
Refine learning objectives and outcomes, as needed.
Recommend improvements to course sequencing, pacing, content delivery, learner engagement, activities, scenarios, practice opportunities, and knowledge checks.
Help prepare/finalize the curriculum and supporting materials for the initial instructor-led pilot.
Develop an approach for gathering meaningful participant and instructor feedback.
Observe the pilot which will take place in the Atlanta, GA area.
Recommend and implement appropriate post-pilot curriculum revisions in collaboration with Vocation Nation™.
Help establish the approved Vocation Nation™ Master Curriculum – Version 1.0 before blended-learning and eLearning development begins.
Ideal Qualifications
The ideal consultant must be located in Atlanta, GA throughout the assignment and should have demonstrated experience in:
Adult learning and instructional design
Instructor-led and blended learning
eLearning design and development
Scenario-based and experiential learning
Assessment and knowledge-check design
Learning Management Systems and eLearning authoring tools
Designing learning experiences that emphasize application rather than passive content consumption
Experience with workforce development, workforce readiness, employability skills, career development, nonprofit training, or employer-based training is highly desirable.
Experience with multiple LMS and authoring platforms is preferred. We are particularly interested in someone who can provide vendor-neutral recommendations rather than designing exclusively around one technology platform.
