Basic Function
The Director of Learning will oversee all training and learning activities and will serve as the single point of accountability for learning outcomes, governance, and enterprise-wide prioritization. This newly created role will unify a currently decentralized learning ecosystem, modernize content and delivery, and build a cohesive, scalable approach to capability development across all markets.
This leader will be responsible for translating business strategy into a clear learning agenda that strengthens operational consistency, accelerates early performance, and reinforces the company’s culture. Success requires a leader who is curious, humble, and relationship-driven, and deeply aligned with the company’s values. The role is highly visible, culturally sensitive, and foundational to the next era of organizational growth.
Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Learning will operate across the enterprise with responsibility for coordinating learning-related work that currently sits across multiple teams and functions. The role will lead dedicated learning resources, such as Program Managers and Coaches, and will work closely with a broader learning community that includes IS training resources, People partners, and operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and own the enterprise learning strategy, operating model, LMS governance, and decision rights
- Lead the annual planning process to ensure learning priorities and development needs are strategically addressed across the business
- Evaluate existing learning programs to identify opportunities for simplification, modernization, and improved relevance
- Modernize existing learning content and delivery methods, with a specific focus on bringing learning up to contemporary design and usability standards
- Integrate technology, tools, and delivery methods that enable scale and reduce operational burden
- Build strong, collaborative partnerships with HR, IS, and Field Operations to ensure learning strategy, people processes, and operational execution are aligned and mutually reinforcing
- Translate business model shifts into clear learning solutions that simplify process, clarify responsibilities, and drive consistency across markets
- Define and optimize the role of field coaches within the learning ecosystem to strengthen consistency and impact
- Own the learning strategy and operating model across a broad learning community
- Align field coaches and program managers around a unified learning philosophy and delivery model
- Ensure learning initiatives strengthen, align with, and preserve the organization’s culture while supporting growth, performance, and change

- Comfortable balancing conceptual thinking with hands-on execution
- Champions and preserves the company culture through learning initiatives
- Operates effectively at the intersection of strategy, operations, human resources, and communications
- Builds credibility quickly across leadership teams to guide and align the business’s approach to learning
- Partner with Executive team to secure buy-in for change
Education/Experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role within a learning function
- Demonstrated experience contributing to or leading a learning transformation
- Experience building governance models, measurement frameworks, and learning operations at scale
- Experience working with a dispersed, field-based organization
