The American College of Surgeons (ACS) seeks an Instructional Designer to design, develop, and implement high-quality education for live, hybrid, and online programs. This full-time, exempt, hybrid position (3 days onsite/2 remote) is based in Chicago and reports to the Manager, Instructional Design–Trauma Education Programs. The role collaborates with program managers, surgeon leaders, and subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments, develop learner-centered content, manage course build and quality assurance in the ACS Learning Management System, and support continuous improvement of education programs. Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of instructional design experience, proficiency with LMS platforms and authoring tools (e.g., Storyline, Rise), strong project management skills, and the ability to translate complex content into effective learning experiences. Healthcare or medical education experience is preferred. The anticipated salary range is $73,700–$80,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
