Science of Learning Summit 2019 - May 16, 2019

Jane Bozarth
Director of Research
The Learning Guild
Despite research findings showing very little evidence that teaching to particular learning styles affects outcomes, conversation around learning styles never ends. Why is the idea of learning styles so appealing? Why does interest and belief persist in spite of evidence? And what is the risk to those we support and the learning industry as a whole?
Join Jane Bozarth, director of research at The eLearning Guild, for an overview of her recent review of the experimental research on teaching to learning styles. She’ll answer these questions, and one more: What to do instead? The session will also include some discussion of challenges in accessing and making sense of academic literature around learning styles, and ways to correct the misguided and misinformed.
