Clark Quinn

Executive Director

Mobile learning is often about content, and sometimes about apps, but one of the big opportunities with mobile is social learning. Social learning is an increasing part of organizational learning, and in organizations that block social networks, mobile phones are becoming the way to maintain connections to a professional network. However, the smart move is to not leave social networks to chance, but to leverage them deliberately. What do we need to know to do this well? Social learning can play a valuable role in both formal and informal learning. Mobile brings a new dimension to social learning in important ways.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How social learning supplements formal learning
  • How social learning supplements informal learning
  • How mobile learning enables social learning
  • What the organizational issues are in enabling mobile social networking
