Research has proven that how you design the interface of an eLearning program will affect how well your users learn. Yet many people still work under the misconception that visual design is cosmetic — nice for appeal, but not a serious player. Because of this, instructional designers are often left to play two roles, taking on visual design on top of instructional design. How can we help elevate interface design to its rightful place in learning, and at the same time, help instructional designers ensure their interfaces lead to better learning?
Participants in this session will explore when and why interface-design decisions impact learning. You’ll also learn a series of proven eLearning-interface-design guidelines that will help ensure your designs support and enhance learning instead of hindering it. You’ll learn these guidelines through a series of examples demonstrating how each guideline has been used for successful real-world learning.
