501 xAPI Learning Analytics: Real-world Examples & Tool Evaluation Tips

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Thursday, September 28

As the adoption of xAPI becomes more widespread, organizations are searching for solutions that can provide them with more usable data about learning effectiveness and user engagement. While abundant information is available on how to implement xAPI, there needs to be more guidance on evaluating learning analytics software tools and using the data to meet specific reporting goals, as a feedback mechanism to inform decisions, or even to improve the quality of the learning content.

Simple information on course completions and pass/fail no longer cuts it. This session will show more extensive reporting and learning analytics capabilities made possible by xAPI. We will also provide examples of how you can use the data you collect to help you make more informed business decisions.

You will be provided a list of reporting tool questions that can be used as a resource when strategically evaluating xAPI-supported tools and systems, such as learning management systems, learning experience platforms, and learning record stores.
