101 Using Data to Align Training to Business Goals

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Wednesday, September 27

Do you find it challenging to marry business expectations with adult learning principles? Often there is a disconnect between the learning assets we develop and the business outcomes our clients are seeking. This misstep could result in a misalignment between our customers' expectations and the learning artifacts that we deliver. It could also jeopardize creating a learner-centric experience that results in increasing business performance and learner competency.

In this session you will learn how to request the required data needed to establish rapport with your stakeholders to create learning experiences that will meet the needs of the business and learners. First, we will learn techniques to identify what the business is trying to accomplish. Next, we will walk through the process of discovering the appropriate data needed to align learning outcomes with business goals. Finally, we will apply the data collected to establish performance-based objectives that will support business outcomes and allow us to benchmark success.
