George Siemens
Professor and Executive Director of the Learning Innovation and Networked Knowledge Research Lab
University of Texas, Arlington
Rapid change requires organizations and individuals to be flexible and adaptive. In today's global business environment, the capacity to make sense of and respond rapidly to continual information flows is critical to continued competitiveness ... and even to organizational survival! Facing overwhelming amounts of information, organizations are turning to analytics and automated means of presenting patterns within data.
In this session, we'll talk with George Siemens about how individuals can make sense of complexity through participation in social and technological networks. We'll focus in particular on the relationship between automated systems and social cognitive sense-making.
