Audio and video are an important part of your content. You use them to provide instructional information, demonstrations of the lesson material, or even basic atmosphere. And now, with HTML5, you no longer need plugins for media to work across platforms. Better yet, you can do more than just “play”!

In this session, you’ll learn how the HTML5 audio and video tags work, and how you can make them work for you. You’ll see what the code to add media to your page looks like and what you can do with it. By walking through working examples of HTML and JavaScript code, you’ll learn how you can add interactions with your media files, track playback, and even control how they play. Finally, you’ll receive all the code used so that you can get started with your audio or video straightaway!

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to add audio or video files to your content
  • How you can control playback
  • How to report on media consumption
  • How to add interaction to your media
