F2 Panel: How to Enhance Collaboration in Virtual Learning

When the world shut down and all work suddenly went remote, virtual learning stepped into the spotlight. Supporting remote workers will continue to be a larger part of the L&D landscape as we move past the pandemic, and it will be critical for us to engage and support these remote workers as well as those that are back in the office. In this panel discussion, our panel of experts will explore how we can enhance engagement and collaboration within our virtual learning strategies.

Karen Hyder

Karen Hyder, online event producer and speaker coach at Kaleidoscope Training and Consulting, has been teaching about technology since 1991, when she delivered instructor-led software courses for Logical Operations. She was promoted to director of trainer development, helping trainers improve skills and earn certifications. In 1999 she created a course for trainers using virtual classrooms, and helped launch The eLearning Guild Online Forums in 2004. She continues to host The Guild’s Best of DemoFest, and was honored with the Guild’s Guild Master Award. Currently, Karen provides coaching and production support for a series of online courses at Hearing First, a not-for-profit that serves audiology professionals earning CEUs.

Cindy Huggett, the principal consultant at Cindy Huggett Consulting, is a speaker, instructional designer, classroom facilitator, and author who specializes in technology, leadership, and learning. Cindy has published three books on virtual training: Virtual Training Tools and Templates: An Action Guide to Live Online Learning (2017), The Virtual Training Guidebook: How to Design, Deliver, and Implement Live Online Learning (2014), and Virtual Training Basics, 2nd ed. (2018). She helps organizations and training professionals move to the virtual classroom. Cindy is a past member of the ATD National Board of Directors and was one of the first to earn the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation.

Jo Cook is a speaker, instructional designer, and classroom facilitator who specializes in virtual classrooms, webinars, and live online learning technology. Jo’s passion is in helping and supporting teams, professionals, and organizations embrace the benefits of the virtual classroom. Jo’s background includes further and higher education, the charity sector, and small and large organizations, including CNN News and Bupa International. Through her company, Lightbulb Moment, Jo has specialized in training learning professionals about virtual classroom design and delivery since 2013 and has spoken at conferences such as Learning Technologies, Online Educa Berlin, and keynoted for Colleges Wales and E-learning Fusion.
