509 The Behaviors of Learning Leadership

1:15 PM - 2:15 PM Thursday, October 21

Conversations about learning leadership tend to revolve around certain themes. We often describe learning leaders in terms of the traits they share, and we label them using the roles and titles they have in their organization. But learning leadership isn't about your position or about a templated set of characteristics. Learning leadership is about what you DO, and more importantly, HOW YOU DO IT.

In this session we will explore specific behaviors that form the foundation of learning leadership. You will discover what these behaviors look like in practice, and how they help others view you as a leader in your organization. You will examine resources that can help you build these skills, and explore ways to incorporate these behaviors in your own work.

In this session your will learn:

  • How to define leadership in your work
  • What characteristics of learning leadership look like in practice
  • Specific actions you can take to start developing specific leadership skills
  • How to look at learning and leadership through a new lens
