Howard Rheingold

Howard Rheingold is a critic, writer, and teacher specializing in the cultural, social and political implications of modern communication media such as the Internet, mobile telephony and virtual communities (a term he is credited with inventing). Howard is the author of several books, former editor of The Whole Earth Review and The Millennium Whole Earth Catalog, founding executive editor of the website HotWired, and founding editor of the website Electric Minds. He currently lectures at Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley. Howard’s current projects include Social Media Classroom, The Cooperation Project, and Rheingold U.
