Santa Rosa, CA, May 7, 2020—The eLearning Guild, a global community of practice for learning professionals, announced a major rebranding today, changing its name to The Learning Guild. The change reflects the evolution of the learning technologies industry and better positions it to meet the needs of the growing community it serves.

“Over the last 20 years, during which we have served the global eLearning community as The eLearning Guild, technology has become integral to learning in every way,” said CEO David Holcombe. “It’s now time for us to expand our focus to one in which we serve the larger learning and development community as they explore all the ways technology can be employed to enhance learning. With our history of deep focus on learning technology, there is no organization better positioned to accomplish this than The Learning Guild.”

“The walls separating the physical from the digital have been torn down by technology being seamlessly integrated into our daily lives, and by extension, technology has become a tool naturally enabling the behaviors that support learning. This, more than anything, has transformed the work we do every day as learning and development professionals. Learning facilitated by digital tools, content, and interactivity no longer describes just eLearning; it describes how we support all learning,” said David Kelly, executive director of The Learning Guild.

Learning Guild members will see an immediate change to the website with an updated version of the logo. They will continue to get access to their previously available benefits, including research reports and publications, webinars, Learning Solutions publication, online events, exclusive discounts on face-to-face events, and more.

“The Learning Guild will continue to host the conversations our community expects from us; conversations that explore how new technologies can enhance our work, conversations that push our practices further, and conversations that help prepare you and your organizations for the future of work,” Kelly said.
