Traditionally, Mobile Coach has delivered customized training reinforcement solely through SMS messaging. However, the company recently launched MMS (multimedia messaging) features in its platform as well as the support of major IP messaging apps, allowing for a wider variety of messages that include interactive and visual content.

With the Mobile Coach platform, training chatbots known as “mobile coaches” can now send and receive pictures and dynamic attachments (like website links with previews). This MMS capability enhances regular text messaging and is compatible with increasing numbers of smartphones. Beyond text messaging, popular data messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and LINE are already optimized for multimedia texts, and, as such, make intuitive homes for versatile training chatbots.

Marketing director Andrew Maxfield says, “At Mobile Coach, we’ve always led with the ‘engagement first’ mentality, meaning that if you don’t win the engagement battle, it doesn’t matter how good your training or reinforcement content is. Relying on messaging, whether we’re talking about traditional SMS messaging or now IP messaging, engages learners where they are, in the moment. No apps. No websites. Just messaging. Many of our clients are already using the MMS features of our new platform, and we’re very excited to use this new feature in our future coaches.”

“In some countries, SMS messaging may not be the default mode of messaging between friends. It might even be cost-prohibitive,” says CEO Vince Han. “Our new MMS feature set, combined with our ability to reach learners through a wide variety of messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, helps us meet the learner where they are and sustain an engaging conversation. We’re curious to see how our clients’ various use cases will take advantage of this new dynamic feature to make more interesting types of mobile coaches.”

Mobile Coach will be exhibiting next week at DevLearn 2016 Conference & Expo, November 16 – 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. To get started with building your own conversational chatbot for training reinforcement, visit Mobile Coach at Booth 439.
