301 Learning Evaluation at a Crossroads: The Next Generation of Tools

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Wednesday, August 22

Recent innovations in learning analytics represent a huge step forward for our industry. But these innovations do not come without challenges. The new data are hard to use for L&D continuous improvement processes. They also bring little insight about learning impact in the workplace, especially on behaviors and individual and team performance. For these issues, qualitative feedback from various stakeholders can help a lot; they can be collected with smart surveys or self-coaching tools.

In this session, you will examine a number of case studies that will help you discover how to make the best use of soft data in learning evaluation and use it to improve the impact of L&D programs. You will explore how to collect both hard data on learning activities and outcomes (activities on digital platforms and business KPIs) and soft data (behavior in the workplace, change in performance for the learners and their environment).
