301 Quality Management Basics for Learning & Development Teams

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Tuesday, February 13

L&D teams create eLearning products, so it’s beneficial to have standardized quality guidelines that designers and developers can follow. The benefits go beyond finding errors to being better equipped to support performance within your organization. While your team may have informal quality management processes around eLearning, any weaknesses in the system can put the team’s products and credibility at risk.

In this session we’ll explore how engaging in quality management best practices can benefit learners, you, and your organization. You’ll walk away with an understanding of the five-phase evolution of quality management and tips for implementing each one, depending on the size and structure of your organization. You’ll receive a guide for how to initiate the quality management discussion with leadership and your team, and will learn how to:

  • Describe the fundamental concepts and principles of quality management in the context of L&D
  • Explain the potential impact of a quality standard in supporting the effectiveness of L&D experiences
  • Explore strategies for promoting a culture of quality within an L&D team
  • Develop an action plan for implementing quality management strategies in an L&D context
