eThink Education, a certified Moodle partner, announced that the new features and fixes of Moodle 3.2—including notable improvements to theme and navigation, updated API and LTI, and the addition of a customizable User Tour feature that helpfully guides learners through the Moodle interface—will be available to clients shortly after the release to ensure users can quickly begin utilizing key new functionality. Moodle, the world’s most widely used learning management system (LMS), has announced that the Moodle 3.2 release is scheduled for November 28.
Moodle’s previous update, the highly anticipated Moodle 3.1, included many new user-requested features and fixes, such as: support for competency-based education, enhancements to several activities, easy retrieval of deleted files, improved tagging and course editing, and expanded functionality within the Moodle mobile app.
Moodle 3.2 builds on the notable improvements of its predecessor with upgrades to core themes and navigation, providing a more modern and easy-to-navigate interface. The best part of the upgrade is that users can choose whether or when to implement the new version, resulting in a non-disruptive transition to a more visually pleasing display.
Perhaps the most notable feature of Moodle 3.2 is the User Tour tool, which creates a customizable walkthrough with overlay to guide users through the Moodle interface. The tool is perfect for introducing new users to Moodle, pointing out new features, introducing a specific course, or directing users to an important piece of the dashboard.
On the technical side, updated API in graph reports will increase ease of use, improve how graphs display, and allow for handling of larger data sets. Improvements to LTI include minor bug fixes, enhanced enrollment LTI support, and improved overall quality of life for LTI version 2.0.
eThink Education will begin utilizing the new improvements provided with the latest Moodle release in client sites upon request. eThink prides itself on ensuring that all of its clients are using current and up-to-date Moodle technology to ensure maximum adoption and learning success.
