Matthew is a regular speaker at multiple learning and development-focused conferences and is a regular contributor to various training publications.

Daniel Wittenborn is a senior product strategy manager with TechSmith. In this role, he is responsible for understanding how videos and images can best be used to educate and inform learners. Prior to joining TechSmith, Daniel spent eight years at The Boeing Company, most recently as a senior strategic business partner in the Learning, Training and Development organization. Daniel holds a PhD in technology with a specialization in education, as well as an MS in computer graphics technology, both from Purdue University. He also holds a BS in industrial technology from Southeast Missouri State University.

For seven years Jason Valade, TechSmith’s master trainer/customer success manager, has trained thousands of people to create Camtasia videos. Prior to his time at TechSmith, Jason spent six years as an educator and has applied that knowledge to several roles at TechSmith, including his roles as an innovation strategist and a solutions engineer. When not training Camtasia users, Jason hosts a podcast focused on being 40ish, and enjoys experimenting with various BBQ methods. He holds a master’s degree in educational technology from Western Michigan University and is a credentialed ATD Master Trainer.

Jake Pechtel is the head of product strategy for TechSmith Camtasia, where he is responsible for the overall direction of the popular screen recording and video editing application. With over a decade of experience in the desktop and mobile software space, Jake works to combine market needs and user feedback into a clear product vision that is focused on helping TechSmith customers be successful by making complex video problems simple and approachable. Jake has been with the TechSmith team for over five years.
Karl Gude

Karl Gude is director of the Media Sandbox at Michigan State University. Previously over a 28-year period he ran the information graphics departments at various news organizations, including Newsweek magazine and The Associated Press. Karl is a visual storyteller who, in addition to his work at Michigan State, consults with companies, news organizations, PR firms, scientific institutions, and government agencies, including the CIA, to help them create accurate and understandable infographics. He has given three TEDx talks and presented twice at South by Southwest (SXSW). He is an avid sketch artist, cartoonist, and painter, and writes a column for the Huffington Post.
