P08 BYOD: Designing and Developing Immersive AR Experiences for Learning
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, October 22
Trinidad B
Augmented Reality (AR) is an amazing new technology for consumers and learning developers. Our ability to access AR from our mobile device makes the barrier of entry low to use and develop for it. However, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Understanding when to use AR, how to design quality AR experiences, and generating organizational buy-in are difficult hurdles to adoption. Getting started with this technology is easier than ever before, but the challenge is doing it in a way that makes it a valuable and sustainable part of your learning and development world.
This workshop will take a deep dive into the incorporation of AR into your training and development process. You’ll discuss strategies for adoption into your existing workflow. You’ll then explore user-friendly software and resources to use in your AR development and create multiple immersive AR experiences, including digital overlays, incorporating 360 images and video, and interactive 3-D models and environments. You’ll be able to take these experiences and use them to kickstart ideas and projects for your organization. This workshop is designed for all experience levels, providing everyone the opportunity to learn about, design, and develop immersive AR.
In this session, you will learn:
- Why your organization should adopt augmented reality
- AR adoption strategies for small, medium, and larger organizations
