P07 BYOL: Creating User Interface and User Experience for Mobile Apps and Websites

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, June 19

Marina 2

Designing for mobile is not like designing for courseware. The mobile user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are radically different from a desktop experience. Instructional designers need to complement their design skills with an understanding of what is different about mobile and what they need to change in order to successfully design interfaces and experiences for mobile users.

In this workshop, you will use design patterns, case studies, and examples taken from experience and iconic works to show what’s different about mobile design. You will engage in an interactive ideation and creation process to help you understand and apply the best practices and design techniques shown in the class. When you leave this workshop, you will understand and be able to use industry-accepted design practices to produce superior mLearning.

  • About common UI and UX design tools and processes
  • How to use UI design patterns for mobile
  • What UX is and why it is important
