P13 Mobile Learning: Determining the Strategic Fit
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, March 15
The problem is simple: How do you get started with mobile learning? We need to move beyond the buzz and determine the strategic fit mobile has within our learning strategy. In order to do that, we need to be able to create a business case, understand what a good example of a mobile learning experience looks like, and how to communicate your vision to others.
In this workshop, you will explore all of the questions you need to answer as you make the move to mobile. You will learn about the mobile learning rationale, the benefits of mobile, and the three categories for when mobile may be a viable approach to consider. You will explore examples showing how other organizations are using mobile as a training and/or performance support tool. You will leave this workshop having worked through the key questions to consider for each of the three phases of mobile strategy: strategic vision, strategic roadmap, and pilot strategy.
In this session, you will learn:
- The benefits of mobile and the strategic ties to the organization
- Three categories of mobile learning and the technologies and approaches used to facilitate it
- Practical ways organizations are benefiting from and using mobile to solve business problems
- The core questions you need to consider when you document your strategic vision
- Key considerations for designing your mobile-learning pilot strategy
Novice and intermediate designers, project managers, and managers.
