B.Y.O.L.: Executing Your Mobile Strategy Using Articulate Storyline

P05 B.Y.O.L.: Executing Your Mobile Strategy Using Articulate Storyline

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, June 23

Seabreeze

Many organizations struggle in their first ventures into mobile learning. They either grab a tool with no thought of strategy, or they focus on strategy and really have no tools to execute that strategy. There must be a strategy in place, but eventually you have to do something with that strategy. That will require a tool and the skills to use that tool.

The flexibility of a tool like Articulate Storyline addresses many of the issues related to mobile learning. We will look at some of the more common elements of a mobile strategy and teach participants how to use Storyline to implement those elements. Storyline has the ability to allow developers to build mobile solutions quickly and easily, without the need for expertise in Flash or HTML programming. Since Storyline allows for the creation of custom buttons and interactions, creating interactivity and a custom mobile interface has never been easier

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to design an mLearning interface compatible with delivery to a phone
  • How to design an mLearning interface compatible with Articulate’s Mobile Player for the Ipad
  • How to build a mobile learning module
  • How to publish a module so that the output is compatible with mobile devices
  • How to determine what elements of Storyline best support your mLearning strategy

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers and developers.

Technology discussed in this session:
Windows PC, Articulate Storyline.

Student technology needs:
Windows laptop or Mac running Windows software, microphone for recording audio (built-in mic will work fine), USB port for transfer of workshop files, and Articulate Storyline (if using the trial version, note that it expires after 30 days).
