As 508 compliance standards make their way into the world of web design and eLearning, developers and designers will need to adapt. Designing web content and training for all learners that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability, creates challenges for the developer and designer. As more and more organizations become aware of the need for 508 compliance, designers and developers must be ready to adjust their processes to meet this challenge.

In this session participants will learn from a case study of an organization that adopted a universal design process for eLearning and web development. You will discuss the challenges that were encountered along the way and receive tips and tricks that make the process of developing with accessibility in mind easier across all eLearning platforms. You will see examples of before and after products, learn about the process of integrating accessibility audits into your workflow to limit the impact on the design process, and be encouraged to use real world feedback to assess your work.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The importance of universal design as it relates to 508 compliance and accessibility to meet the needs of all learners
