The potential benefits of performance support systems are often discussed and well documented. Those who address this have described performance support as “providing the right things, in the right way, at the right time.” However, most organizations are unaware of the potential benefits of performance support systems. This is largely because most organizations are not operating effectively in what Gloria Gery called “the performance zone.”
This session will focus on the reasons that many organizations are not oriented to performance or systems thinking. One of the main reasons is that many organizations are not in what we could call “the innovation zone.” Participants will get thought-provoking ideas for engaging organizations in such a way that they will be innovative and ready for the development and implementation of performance support tools and systems.
