P11 BYOL: Premiere Video Editing Crash Course

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, June 19

Marina 4

Poor presentation and editing can undermine the educational message in video. Even with sound, well-designed educational content, poor technical execution of video learning content can make your videos unwatchable. At the same time, the software used to edit and produce video can seem intimidating. Which features matter, and what is the minimum you need to know to create serviceable video?

In this workshop, you will learn how to competently edit and produce video using Adobe Premiere, which is included with the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Even if you’ve never edited video before, you will learn a small subset of features that will allow you to be productive immediately. There are a few basic types of edits that, once mastered, you can use again and again to keep your video content engaging and watchable. If you find Premiere intimidating or just difficult to grasp, you will find this workshop enormously beneficial.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to import content into Premiere
  • How to use the timeline and create sequences
  • How to work with audio
  • How to create titles and graphics
  • How to determine what types of edits to use
  • How to edit talking-head and screencast sequences

Audience:
Novice designers and developers.

Technology discussed in this session:
Video, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Photoshop.

Participant technology requirements:
Mac or PC laptop and an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
