801 Panel Discussion: Maximizing Employee Potential Through Social Learning

The world of work demands that people stay connected. Connection enhances employee engagement, extends knowledge sharing and breeds creative solutions. Our leaders and practitioner-led panel will openly discuss various approaches to social learning in our dynamic work environments, including peer-to-peer learning and mentorship programs and social technology use for knowledge sharing. The discussion will also examine measuring the impact of social learning on employee performance, including metrics such as knowledge retention, collaboration, and engagement. You will leave with real-world examples of social learning, the challenges and solutions being created for meeting the demands of modern work and learning.

Mark Britz is the director of event programming at The Learning Guild. Previously he worked for more than 15 years designing and managing learning solutions with organizations such as Smartforce, Pearson Digital Learning, the SUNY Research Foundation, Aspen Dental Management, and Systems Made Simple. Mark is also an organizational social designer, helping businesses achieve the benefits of becoming more connected and collaborative to improve learning and engagement. Mark is the author of Social By Design: How to create and scale a collaborative company, and regularly presents and writes about the use of social media for learning, collaborative networks, and organizational design.

Wendy Taylor Wampler, VP of Learning and Talent Development at LAZ Parking, is best known for her expertise in bringing out the best in leaders and teams through coaching, offsite facilitation, and going deep with teams to uncover what might be holding them back. In her current role, Wendy supports leaders across the lifecycle, with a focus on effective talent and performance management practices that promote equity while strengthening the leadership pipeline. She is a certified coach, practitioner of Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching, and champion strengths-based development.

Guy W. Wallace is a retired Performance Analyst and Instructional Architect. He started in 1979 and became an external consultant in 1982, and did planning, analysis, design, and development of Performance Guides and Learning Experiences for over 80 clients on hundreds of performance-based Instructional efforts for high-stakes performance. His work has won internal and external awards from ISPI and ATD, for clients, including AT&T, Change Healthcare, General Motors, Imperial Oil, Hewlett Packard, and Siemens Building Technologies.
