801 Creating an Effective Assessment Strategy

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7

In this new age of robust learning data, learning professionals have more potential than ever before to quantify their ability to teach new behaviors and skills to learners. As organizations increasingly expect more insight into the impact of learning, we are required to align our learning efforts with organizational metrics. Unfortunately, after decades of common misunderstandings and poor standards around assessments, confidence in assessments as a metric for impact alignment is declining.

In this session we'll discuss the key strategic advantage that an effective assessment strategy provides. We’ll discuss the elements of an effective assessment strategy, and the components of an effective assessment. You’ll be provided job aids to help avoid some of the common pitfalls when creating valid assessments. And you’ll learn how effective assessments can be the primary force in allowing L&D to take the leadership role in changing organizational behaviors.
