Fifteen years ago, Jane Bozarth asked L&D practitioners around the world if they would contribute to a book sharing tools they actually used in their own work. The result was a compilation of guidelines, templates, checklists, matrices, and decision-making flow charts for working through instructional design from analysis to evaluation. The tools were supplemented with from-the-field advice on everything from giving good instructions to tips for delivering an unpopular message.
The book, The ID: From Analysis to Evaluation, reissued as a PDF handout, is below.
Do not share the PDF. It is a copyrighted work. If you have colleagues who would like to purchase their own copy, please direct them to: https://www.insynctraining.com/analysis-to-evaluation-book. To gain access to the downloadable forms email OnlineEvents@Learningguild.com .
In the opening session, Jane offers a quick tour of the book and its contents, highlighting some of the most popular and most-discussed tools and their uses in enacting skillful work. She’ll also offer quick discussion of concepts that were not at the forefront of L&D back then, such as the importance of accessibility. This session—and those that follow—are not so much “how to do ID things”—that’s included in the handout’s dozens of tools—as “how IDs get things done.”
