Understanding Learning Trends Online Conference 2020 - December 2, 2020

Linda Daniels
Associate Director, Experience Architect, Global Learning & Development
Merck
Learning Experience Design (LXD) is exploding in L&D as organizations realize learning is a process that exists inside and outside formal training solutions, and that leveraging data analytics and diverse teams including end-users and stakeholders is critical for success. The learning experience designer focuses on the UX and design of various assets, while the architect problem solves to provide overall ‘opportunities’ and maps out what is needed end-to-end before design even begins.
In this session we’ll review real-world case studies and how the need for good performance consulting, managing difficult conversations, and building credibility and trust with evolving teams is so important to create appropriate learner experiences. We will also review the importance of learner journey mapping (insights), experience design, and wireframing & prototyping, and how having the ‘right people’ in the room is a must-have, not nice to have.
