Julie Dirksen
Learning Strategist
Usable Learning
In addition to the research in learning and development, there are research initiatives in other domains that have importance for anyone who is creating learning experiences. Being aware of and learning to draw from them can greatly enhance the solutions you create.
In this session, you'll learn about some of the other academic research domains that can help improve learning design, like behavioral economics, marketing, behavioral sciences, habit formation, and user experience design. We'll examine which academic research domains can help with design, specific strategies that you can be applied to your work, and you'll better understand what can be applied from neuroscience to evaluate the claims, and why it may not always be the most useful research area to pay attention to. Finally, you'll gain specific insights that can be immediately applicable to your solutions.
