Stephanie Demiris
Sr. Director, Global Learning & Engagement
Deckers Brands
This session chronicles the journey of how the learning and engagement (L&E) department at Deckers Brands drove learning efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment by shifting from being a training provider to becoming a strategic partner impacting the business. Zeno, the new communication, collaboration, innovation, and learning platform at Deckers, has allowed employees to take their collective learning of the organization to new heights, giving them the opportunity to learn from each other rather than just learning from the content provided in the formal programs offered. In a global organization, Zeno provided the space needed to learn from each other in real-time at the moment of need.
In this session, you will examine what Zeno is for Deckers with a case study on how Deckers is leveraging social learning in a way that works in the organization and how that learning is having a significant impact on the business. You will explore how Deckers implemented Zeno, and see how Deckers made Zeno work for their corporate culture. Most learning and training functions have a learning management system (LMS) that many would argue doesn’t work or is a pain, but you will leave this session knowing that there’s a way to re-think your LMS and make it work for you. It just takes some marketing, branding, and reimagining.
In this session, you will learn:
- A new way to implement learning-management-system (LMS) technology in your organization that employees will like
- Through three case studies, how the learning and development (L&D) department at Deckers impacted the business and became a strategic business partner through this process
- Practical tips on changing your LMS strategy
- Strategies to increase executive adoption
Audience:
Intermediate designers, developers, project managers, managers, directors, VPs, CLOs, and executives. Attendees should be interested in social and informal learning, and have some knowledge of LMS technology and an open mind.
