John Costa is CEO of RePubIT, an interactive eBook prototyping studio. A champion of digital media product innovation for over 20 years, 10 years of adjunct teaching at NYU and NSTC prepared him for entrepreneurial challenge of eLearning transformation. He chairs three open-standards committees: the IEEE IC12 Industry Connections Actionable Data Book Committee, the Book Industry Study Group’s Interactivity in eBooks, and ADL’s xAPI eBook Community of Practice. These groups advance learning and performance support adoption of open standard architectures. John’s goals are standardization of interactive eBooks, active widgets, and xAPI analytic data formats for advanced learning. Current experiential learning projects include real-time tutoring dashboards within ePub3, annotation sharing for field markup and quality assurance, and learning analytics correlation to business performance.
