In the transportation industry, many pieces of outdated equipment are being replaced with new, more efficient models. Changes like this can be very disruptive to affected workers. In today’s digital world this problem is becoming ever more common as mobile technologies move processes from levers and handles to buttons and touch screens.

In this session you will explore how instructional designers can function as change agents for their organizations. You will explore the methodology one team applied to successfully support a major technology change initiative for legacy employees, and you will discuss the role of the instructional designer in change management. You will leave this session with strategies that can be applied to support your change management in your organization, be it a shift to mobile technology use or any other major change.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to apply the ADDIE model to existing courseware for a new purpose
  • How to apply Bloom’s Taxonomy to a known skill
  • How to apply Maslow’s hierarchy of needs when faced with resistance
  • How the change curve applies to training
