When it comes to mobile learning, there are a number of challenges learning and development practitioners experience. It is necessary to add context to mobile learning experiences, including using mobile devices for performance support. It is also necessary to understand the possibilities posed by new technologies. Thankfully, you can learn much of this by looking at the examples provided by organizations that have already walked this path.

In this session you will learn from the approaches companies, universities, and the military are using to address the challenge of creating highly engaging and contextual experiences that result in effective learning and performance support solutions. You will explore the potential of augmented reality and 3-D technologies for mobile learning. You will examine a variety of learning solutions that have effectively leveraged augmented reality and 3-D imagery. You will leave the session with the knowledge needed to get started creating your own augmented reality solutions.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How augmented reality can provide real-world context to your mLearning solutions
  • How augmented reality is being used as a performance support tool
  • How to bring your mobile learning solutions to life with 3-D technologies
  • The three-step process for creating an augmented reality experience

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, and project managers.

Technology discussed in this session:
Aurasma, 3D mHealth framework (3-D model framework used in healthcare), Google Glass, and smartphones (iOS and Android).
