208 Try Again: The Importance of Feedback Loops in Gamified Microlearning

This is also true for gamified microlearning, where the learning experience is concentrated down to 10-minutes or less. For many designers, failure begs the question, "What engagement solutions impact a learners experience to become active participants?" Education, healthcare, manufacturing, and IT are all seeing a rise in gamified microlearning. In 2019, PRNewswire reported that the global microlearning market is expected to grow from $1.5 billion to $2.7 billion by 2024. Which is why now more than ever, it's important to include well-designed feedback loops that will set learners up for success in your next gamified microlearning.

You'll explore why successful feedback loops can enhance learner focus, motivation, and engagement. Finally, we'll demonstrate production tips for designing a positive and negative feedback loop including possible authoring tools, the importance of positive and negative reinforcement through sound design, the use of voiceover in feedback loops, and share a style guide sheet you'll be able to adapt to your company's branding and workflow. You'll leave this session with a better understanding of how feedback loops in your gamified microlearning can set your learner up for success.
