As the demand for high-quality, multimedia-rich online courses increases, so do the expectations of rapid development. Clients expect custom multimedia in shorter periods of time, putting pressure on designers to produce more with less. In this session you will learn practical strategies that have been put in place at the University of South Florida to enable greater efficiency in multimedia production. These strategies include working with content, finding inspiration, and establishing a baseline. You will come away with flexible and adaptive strategies that can be applied to a variety of settings and authoring tools.
Christie Nicholas

USF Innovative Education
Christie Nicholas is the interim assistant director of online course design and development (OCDD) at University of South Florida’s Innovative Education. She has been part of the OCDD team since 2011, when she began producing weekly news videos for students from pre-K to fifth grade. In 2012 Christie joined the course development team, where she leads instructional designers and project managers in the creation of high-quality online courses. Christie, who has been involved in secondary education since 2006, holds an MEd in instructional technology and a BA in creative writing.
Philip Gaiser

Innovative Education
Philip Gaiser is an instructional designer and adjunct faculty member for Innovative Education at the University of South Florida, where he works in the innovative education department. Prior to working at Innovative Education, Phil was an instructional designer at Bisk Education and the University of South Florida—St. Petersburg. He holds a master’s degree in instructional technology from USF and several graduate certificates.
