212 Implementing xAPI Within Your Organization

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Tuesday, November 16

You may often wonder how well your online training performs and whether it is meeting your training goals. SCORM can let you know who starts and who completes a course, but does that give you enough information about how well your online learning performs? xAPI allows us to track far more than SCORM ever could and allows you to get more details about how your learners are doing, including the skills they are gaining.

With xAPI, you can finally know if the video you spent a lot of effort creating is as effective as you were hoping---and if the end-user was able to gain what they needed and even perform the task they learned. In this session, we will walk through what it takes to implement xAPI within your organization, what kind of skill set your team needs to have, and how to get started. You will also learn how to gather data from xAPI learning activities that will help you know how you need to pivot and improve your online training to better meet your learners' needs. We will even talk about how you can use xAPI in real-world applications to measure whether your training was successful.

In this session, you will learn:
  • What it takes to implement xAPI within your organization
  • The skills your L&D team needs to implement xAPI
  • How to get started with xAPI in your organization
