361 On Demand - Building a Learning Design Community

2:00 PM - 2:45 PM Wednesday, November 17

While working remotely, it has become increasingly harder to carve out time for professional development, networking, and community building. And in companies with a non-centralized learning function, it can be hard to find others who are focused on all the same things you are, like using data to make informed learning decisions, making learning more engaging, or testing out new methodologies. This session provides participants a framework for creating a learning community at their place of work or among colleagues in the learning field. We will share the process we used to create a strong learning community that fosters and supports the continual growth of the practice at Salesforce, including technology best practices for hosting such events virtually using technology to foster continuous learning and networking outside of scheduled alignment meetings.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to utilize a framework to create a meaningful gathering for learning professionals at your place of work or using technology to facilitate virtual gatherings
  • How to identify community members that would benefit from a thoughtful, learning-focused gathering
  • Factors that contribute to making the gathering an accelerator for learning design best practices
