361 On Demand - Building a Learning Design Community

While working remotely, it has become increasingly harder to carve out time for professional development, networking, and community building. And in companies with a non-centralized learning function, it can be hard to find others who are focused on all the same things you are, like using data to make informed learning decisions, making learning more engaging, or testing out new methodologies. This session provides participants a framework for creating a learning community at their place of work or among colleagues in the learning field. We will share the process we used to create a strong learning community that fosters and supports the continual growth of the practice at Salesforce, including technology best practices for hosting such events virtually using technology to foster continuous learning and networking outside of scheduled alignment meetings.

Kelsey Glaser is a sales programs manager at Salesforce working on building enablement for the enterprise sales team. She equips learners with engaging, relevant content. Kelsey is passionate about designing learning experiences that resonate with the learner. She completed her degree in media, information, & technoculture at Western University in Ontario, Canada.

Bailey Hamm is a learning experience designer at Salesforce. She supports the M&A Enablement team and works to help sellers accelerate their selling potential for newly acquired products. Bailey is passionate about designing and delivering learning solutions that bring context and engagement to the learner's flow of work. She completed her master of science degree in instructional systems and learning technologies at Florida State University prior to working as a learning designer for Southwest Airlines. One of her most cherished accomplishments is being a member of the Learning 2019 30 Under 30 cohort, a program that recognizes up-and-coming learning leaders.
