201 Research Review: Smarter Delivery, Tying Engagement to Outcomes, and Keeping Up with Trends

In this session The Learning Guild’s director of research, Jane Bozarth, offers quick overviews of some recent Guild research. Topics covered are the value of investing in robust train-the-trainer efforts, beyond how to work technology while delivering scripted content and a review of ideas and emerging technologies important to leaders working to stay current and help guide others into the future. Along the way Jane will be joined by Insync Training’s Charles Dye, whose dissertation was featured in our report on learner engagement and instructional outcomes.

Jane Bozarth

The Learning Guild

Jane Bozarth, the director of research for The Learning Guild, is a veteran classroom trainer who transitioned to eLearning in the late 1990s and has never looked back. In her previous job as leader of the State of North CarolinaĆ¢'s award-winning eLearning program, Jane specialized in finding low-cost ways of providing online training solutions. She is the author of several books, including eLearning Solutions on a Shoestring, Social Media for Trainers, and Show Your Work: The Payoffs and How-To's of Working Out Loud. Jane holds a doctorate in training and development and was awarded the Guild Master Award in 2013 for her accomplishments and contributions to the eLearning community.

Charles Dye

Technical Director

InSync Training

Charles Dye is a senior executive with experience growing technology- based service companies in the eLearning industry. His primary functional expertise lies in implementations in enterprise learning, learner-centric universal design, situated cognition, training function automation, and learner community development and optimization. At InSync, his responsibilities include development of key personnel, advising on strategic implementations of eLearning systems, and professional development of technical staffs. Charles is currently engaged in doctoral research focusing on the development of skills and mastery and their contribution to organizational objectives, whether in public education, industry, or military preparedness training.
