201 Survey Data: The Recipe for Learning Success

8:00 AM - 8:45 AM Thursday, July 28

Learner experience data is usually reviewed after training has been delivered. By the time the insights from that data are understood, the learning program is often over so only future programs can benefit from the lessons learned. But what if we could continuously collect and analyze learner feedback so it could inform our designs on an ongoing basis?

In this session you will learn how to design learner-centered survey questions that enable you to incorporate just-in-time data into your designs. You will learn how to collect and use key data metrics to continually inform and improve learning design. You will see examples of data, survey questions, and data dashboards, and discover how these were used to impact the learning design. By attending this session you will gain tips that will help you improve and streamline the data collection process in your own design cycles.

In this session you will learn:

  • How to evaluate existing data to inform your design

  • Metrics that can be collected in learner surveys

  • How to create data feedback loops within your design cycle

  • How to outline a design cycle that supports your organizational learning needs

Session Takeaway: Attendees will receive a checklist that identifies key strategies, steps, and considerations for creating a data feedback protocol for learning design cycles.
