P10 Designing for Outcomes with xAPI
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, October 23
Montego E
The Experience API has emerged as a tool to take learning programs to new levels of effectiveness. However, understanding xAPI is only the first step. In order to harness the potential of xAPI, you must alter your design process with xAPI in mind.
In this workshop, you will learn how to use xAPI to design for outcomes. After building a foundation on the fundamentals of xAPI, you will quickly work on setting up your first xAPI project. You will explore best practices for doing analytics work, including the tools and project approaches to consider. Throughout the day, you will explore case studies that will give you the context you need to apply xAPI in your organization.
In this session, you will learn:
- About the foundations of xAPI
- How to develop a plan for using xAPI
- How to leverage analytics in your design
- From case studies that explore common and exceptional use cases of xAPI
Audience:
Novice to intermediate designers, developers, and learning
managers.
