P15 B.Y.O.L.: Building Advanced eLearning Using Storyline Variables and Conditions
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, October 28
Monet 2
Articulate Storyline is a very user-friendly tool that enables users to build complex learning programs without use of programming. Because many users are self-taught, much of the more powerful functionality is unexplored. One Storyline feature that can open up a huge array of eLearning possibilities is the use of variables.
In this hands-on workshop you will learn about variables and conditions; and how you can use them to develop advanced eLearning projects. You will explore the different types of variables available in Storyline and the functionality that each type of variable provides. You will leave this workshop understanding the power of text, true/false, and numeric variables and how to use them to create advanced eLearning projects.
In this session, you will learn:
- The most common uses of the different Storyline variables
- How to populate a completion screen with text variables
- How to use conditions to evaluate variables
- How to use a true/false variable to control navigation
- How to use a numeric variable to perform calculations
Audience:
Novice and intermediate
designers and developers. Familiarity and comfort with the basic functions of
Storyline will be helpful.
Technology discussed in this session:
Text variables, true/false
variables (Boolean), number variables, and conditional triggers.
Participant technology needs:
A PC or Mac running
Windows and Articulate Storyline.
