504 Making the Most of Microlearning

The days of lengthy, boring PowerPoint courses are numbered as microlearning takes front and center stage in the adult learning space. Consequently, the need for designers to create quick and concise learning opportunities that are both engaging and mobile-friendly continues to grow.

In this session you will explore the microlearning planning process, including a simple, easy-to-follow planning document. This enables you to structure the microlearning course to fulfill the learners' needs and guide subject matter experts in creating content. Additionally, you will learn tips that can guide you in your search for outside vendors (i.e., animators and illustrators) to add multi-media components to your microlearning courses. You'll discover creative ways to utilize course development tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise to create microlearning course components like branching scenarios and content application knowledge checks. You'll also see samples of microlearning courses for inspiration. You'll leave this session motivated to create your own microlearning courses!
