408 Using Frameworks to Empower SMEs to Develop Their Own Learning Programs

1:45 PM - 2:45 PM ET / 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM PT Thursday, October 27

Montego A

Are you challenged with more requests for training content than your team can provide? This has become the reality for many large organizations, and we are all struggling. Your success comes from your ability to scale the development aspect of your programs without adding staff to do it. The good news is that your SMEs can help...and many want to. But we need to help them first.

In this session you will learn about eight frameworks our learning team built and is providing to our SMEs so they can self-serve when it comes to content and program creation. The eight frameworks include podcast-format interviews or discussions, masterclass, virtual summits, lunch-and-learn, bootcamps, cohorts, informal mentorships, and self-paced SME-created content. The goal of using these frameworks is to empower your SMEs to perform more of the "heavy-lifting" that comes with training program development. This allows you, the learning team, to take on more projects and scale your capabilities to improve your business. In the end, if we can get our various teams around the company to self-serve and create content and programs that are "good enough," as a learning team we can be better positioned to advise, guide, and package that content so it meets the learning needs and we can meet the ever-growing training demands of our business. To demonstrate the value of using frameworks, you will have an opportunity to practice applying these frameworks to real-world scenarios with your fellow participants. As a participant, you will receive all eight of our frameworks to take back to your business and apply them to your own situations.

In this session, you will learn:

  • To describe the basic frameworks we have put in place
  • To create frameworks that meet your unique situations
  • How to apply the frameworks to common business scenarios
  • To deconstruct what the pros and cons of the frameworks might be in a real-world environment

Technology discussed:

MS Teams, MS PowerPoint, MS Stream, Articulate Rise, DaVinci Resolve
