Visual data makes it more compelling, easier to understand, and therefore easier to make your point. Power BI is a powerful way to help your data tell a better story through tables and dashboards that give you, your boss, and your company the best and most timely information possible.
In this session you'll learn the basics of Power BI. You’ll learn to massage your data to make it easier to do top-level reporting in just minutes. We’ll walk through how to upload multiple reports so you can make them all interact with each other to get the most out of what your company would want to know. Using scenario questions you could be asked to provide, you’ll see how easy it is to develop multiple tables and dashboards to answer the questions. You’ll learn which visualizations work best for what you’re trying to produce. You'll learn how to upload the data into power BI, Power Query Editor, and how to set up the data before you use it in the Power BI desktop. You’ll see how you can manipulate each visualization to truly make it your own, and create some great looking visualizations about the data. Lastly, you’ll see a way to add to your data so you can update it in just seconds, saving you from having to rebuild your dashboards over and over again.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to upload to the Power Query Editor
- How to manipulate your data in the Power Query Editor to make it easier to build custom visualizations
- What visualizations and functions are available to you
